URUGUAY VS RUSSIA MATCH PREVIEW!!

Match: Russia VS Uruguay

Stadium: Samara Arena, Samara

Date: Monday June 25

Time: 3pm WAT

Head to Head: The teams met in May 2002 and it ended in a 1 all draw.

With both teams having qualified for the next round in different ways however, both teams will be looking to balance realism and momentum in the final match.

How is Russia shaping up?

Russia may want to keep the momentum going with a win here having proved all doubters wrong with solid performances in their earlier matches. But they might want to rest players like Zhirkov who had a foot injury after the first match, while giving some fringe players some playing time with a crunch knockout maatch in the horizon.

Danger man: Aleksandr Golovin. He's covered more ground than any other Russian and is a creative force behind the team.

How is Uruguay shaping up?

Uruguay will be looking to improve on their performances which had them scoring lone goals in both matches. Godin and Gimenez might be rested with the knockouts in mind, Torreira would be looking to start following a good performance against the Saudis. Uruguay would be looking to create more chances and score more.

Danger man: Lucas Torreira. Impressive in his performance off the bench and neat in possession, he will hope nullify the threat of Golovin and also provide a level of control missing in Uruguay's games in Russia so far.
